Sub-Zero Refrigerator Error Code EC (Service Flashing)
Generic Error Condition — the control board has logged a fault and lit the Service indicator.
What EC (Service Flashing) means.
EC stands for "Error Condition" on a Sub-Zero unit. It is not a single fault — it is the umbrella alert that tells you the control board has recorded one or more numbered service codes (EC05, EC20, EC40, EC50, etc.) and is asking for service. On Classic and Designer series the Service icon flashes; on PRO 48 and newer integrated columns the panel cycles through the specific EC numbers. The actual repair is dictated by the numbered code behind it, which a tech reads from the service-mode display.
