What FF means.

FF means the freezer compartment temperature has risen above its target and the controller is flagging it. FF is a symptom code, not a diagnosis: the freezer is warm, but the cause could be anything from a door left open to ice buildup blocking the evaporator fan to a failing compressor. On GE units the FF code usually shows up before the freezer gets dangerously warm, so you have a few hours of warning before food safety is at risk.
