Viking Refrigerator Error Code Shr
Thermistor short-circuit — sensor has shorted to ground or a wire has bridged.
What Shr means.
Shr (or SHR) is the opposite of oPn — instead of seeing infinite resistance the controller is seeing zero or near-zero ohms across the thermistor. That means the sensor has failed shorted, or a stripped wire is touching the cabinet ground. The board falls back to a safe-mode duty cycle which usually overcools the zone, so you will often see ice forming in the fresh-food section alongside this code.
