What Door Ajar means.
The Door Ajar message lights up when the door switch has been in the "open" state for longer than the controller allows (typically 2–5 minutes) — or when it intermittently makes and breaks contact, suggesting a worn gasket or magnet. On Viking built-ins this is often a real maintenance signal: the magnetic gaskets weaken with age and stop pulling the door fully closed against the cabinet. The result is warm-air infiltration that makes the compressor run too long and may eventually trigger a HI alarm.
