Whirlpool Refrigerator Error Code CF
Communication failure between main control board and door user interface.
What CF means.
CF means the main control board (mounted on the back of the fridge) and the user interface (the touch panel on the door) have stopped communicating. They talk over a wire harness that runs up through the door hinge — and that harness is the most common failure point because it flexes every time the door opens. Once CF logs, the display goes blank or shows random characters, but the fridge usually keeps cooling on its last known settings.
