What Er IT means.

Er IT (also seen as Er It on some firmware) flags an ice-maker internal fault. The ice-maker module itself has logged an error: the mold heater is not responding, the ejector motor stalled, or the optical sensor cannot read bin level. Unlike Er IF (fan) or Er F1 (fan motor), Er IT specifically points at the ice-maker assembly itself rather than its supporting hardware.

Most common causes.

  • Ice maker module failed.

  • Ejector motor stalled in a fused ice block.

  • Optical sensor blocked or failed.

  • Mold heater open-circuit.

Try this first — safe DIY troubleshooting.

  1. Pull the ice bin and inspect for fused ice that may have stalled the ejector.

  2. Gently break up any fused ice with a plastic spoon — never a knife.

  3. Reinstall and watch for 24 hours.

  4. If Er IT returns, the module itself needs replacement.
