Defrost sensor short or disconnection — defrost cycle cannot end correctly.
What Er dS means.
Er dS flags a fault with the defrost sensor. This sensor sits on the evaporator coil and tells the board when frost has cleared and the heater can shut off. With Er dS active the controller cannot end defrost on demand and either runs it too long (which warms food on the rear shelves) or cuts it short (which leaves frost on the coil). Either way you eventually get a frost-up or food-safety problem.
