Freezer evaporator sensor fault — freezer defrost cycle compromised.
What F4 means.
F4 flags a failure on the freezer-side evaporator sensor. Without it the freezer defrost cycle falls back to a timer, which usually frosts the coil over a few weeks. F4 is closely related to F2 (refrigerator evaporator sensor) — same family of root causes, just on the freezer side.
