Electrolux and Frigidaire share a parent company, and on the mechanical side that means common compressor generations, common defrost components, and overlapping evaporator-fan part numbers. What changes on Electrolux is the European-style cabinet, the counter-depth fit, the ICON pro-style trim, and a more sophisticated user-interface board with a different fault-code dialog. The diagnosis path borrows from what we already know about Frigidaire, but the parts list is Electrolux-specific.

Common Electrolux issues we see

  • Ice-maker control-board failures. Same root cause as Frigidaire — the harvest cycle stalls, the mold heater stays on, water backs up, and the freezer drifts warm. Common on EI23 and EI28 French-door platforms past 5 years.
  • Evaporator-fan motor wear. Freezer holds, fresh-food side drifts warm, and airflow up from the freezer chamber stops. The motor is shared with the Frigidaire Gallery line, so it is on the truck.
  • Dispenser actuator jams. The ice and water flap stops closing fully, warm humid air enters the dispenser cavity, and frost builds in the chute. The actuator pivot wears out around year 6 on E23 counter-depth platforms.
  • ICON premium gasket compression failures. The pro-style ICON line uses a tighter cabinet spec. When the gasket loses memory, the upper-corner seal opens, condensation forms on the cabinet face, and the unit overworks.
  • Water-inlet valve failures on E32 side-by-side. The dispenser pad clicks but no water flows, or the line slow-drips behind the cabinet.
  • Defrost-timer or defrost-heater failures. Frost builds on the rear of the freezer, the fresh-food side stops cooling, and the classic “fridge warm but freezer cold” symptom shows up.

Written quote before any work, parts and labor under a 3-month warranty (6 to 12 months on compressor and sealed-system work).
